The Newbery Medal was named for eighteenth-century British bookseller John Newbery. It is awarded annually by the Association for Library Service to Children, a division of the American Library Association, to the author of the most distinguished contribution to American literature for older children.


The Caldecott Medal was named in honor of nineteenth-century English illustrator Randolph Caldecott. It is awarded annually by the Association for Library Service to Children, a division of the American Library Association, to the artist of the most distinguished American picture book for children.

Zoo at the Library?
Yes they come big and small on Saturday April 21 at 11:00am and will stay for one hour at the Kershaw Garden next to the Library. so that children enjoy petting them and learning a lot about animals

Saturday Storyfun


a special reading fun for kids ages 7 - 9
Starts in April on Saturdays April 14, 28 and May 12 and 26
at 11:00 - 11:30 am in the Wickiup.


Kids can join for listening to stories new and old, creative dramatics, fun. Parents and younger siblings are asked to wait outside.

Food For Thoughts Reading Program
This program which is sponsored by IN-N-OUT Burger gives children ages 4 -12 an opportunity to earn free coupons to IN-N-OUT to get a free hamburger or cheeseburger. Children will earn a certificate of achievement and a free coupon for every 5 books they read or have read to them. Children can read up to 15 books and can earn as many as 3 coupons. This program runs from March 10 - April 21st. Visit the Library to register and get your book logs.
